Village Administrator

Allouez, WI (Population 14,156)

Allouez is seeking an innovative and experienced local government professional to collaborate closely with its elected officials and administrative staff to continue to build a great team to meet the future challenges and opportunities of its dynamic and historically progressive community. The current administrator is retiring after 10 years in the position and over 30 years of service to the Village. Allouez is one of the premier suburbs of Green Bay and is located in the third largest metro area of Wisconsin. The Village takes great pride in its parks and extensive trail system, thriving neighborhoods, highly educated workforce, excellent medical services, nearby colleges and universities and overall quality of life supported by its favorable geographic location (adjacent to STH 172, near Austin Straubel International Airport and the Port of Green Bay).

Starting salary range: $120K-$140K DOQ, plus excellent benefits. Village President and six (6) Board Members elected on a non-partisan basis. 2024 budget is approximately $14.2M including Sewer, Stormwater and Water Utilities as well as TIF and CIP with 31 FT and 35+ part-time and seasonal employees. Future emphasis for the next village administrator will be on Webster Avenue Corridor (Village Center) redevelopment; community strategic planning including the potential relocation/redevelopment of the Green Bay State Correctional Institution located in the Village; robust capital improvement planning and execution; continued preservation and enhancement of community green space and trails and guiding overall organizational change and development.

Require Bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field. Prefer at least 5 years progressive municipal management experience. Consideration of candidates with private sector or military experience will be made if they can demonstrate accomplishments that directly relate to the skills required. Residency in the Village is encouraged but not required.

Desire a proven leader who has the experience of guiding a municipality through a period of redevelopment and organizational change and the strong ability to cultivate positive and productive relationships with the village board, staff, business community and citizens. Desire experience in budget development/management; strategic community planning; human resources and supervision; community engagement and economic development. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of both personal and professional integrity; possess open and positive communication skills with a strong willingness to be active and very engaged in the Allouez community, while leading by example.
