A comprehensive plan is an official public document that is adopted by ordinance by a local government, and it is designed to identify the major policies concerning the future physical development of the community.
This plan is intended to educate residents wishing to utilize the bicycle and pedestrian programs and facilities in the village. It is also the intention to have a Board-approved plan in place to guide systematic improvements and maintenance projects that improve safety conditions for walking and bicycling in the village.
A Safe Routes to School (SRTS) plan is intended to encourage students who are within two miles of their schools to safely walk or bike to school as a part of an active, healthy, and independent lifestyle.
Expanding on prior studies and the Village’s master plan, Somerville Architects & Engineers took a closer look at the intersection of Webster Avenue and St. Joseph Street.
The Conceptual Plan includes the types of properties, public spaces and other amenities called for in the Village of Allouez Comprehensive Plan, Allouez Corridor Study, and the Greater Green Bay Economic Development Strategic Plan.
Sustainability
The Path Towards Sustainability focuses on community initiatives for the future that will continue Allouez’s efforts for:
- Commitment to green space
- Great parks and access to walking
- Biking trails
- Arbor Day Foundation designation of being a “Tree City”
- Resident participation in the local recycling program
Another sustainability area of focus is the Village involvement in WPS’s iCanConserve Program. Information on this initiative can be found at:
- Insulation has been installed at the Green Isle Park Pavillion, as well as a high-efficiency furnace
- Incandescent bulbs have been replaced with LEDs at the Fire Dept. and other buildings around Village (Village Hall, Park Shelters…)

Permit required prior to renting a mobile storage unit or construction dumpster.
A Certificate of Appropriateness is needed when there are plans for reconstructing, altering, or demolishing the exterior of a property locally designated by the Village as historic.
