SLOW DOWN, OBEY TRAFFIC SIGNAGE & PAY ATTENTION IN WORK ZONES

With the Libal Street Construction Project well underway, officials are urging drivers to slow down, obey traffic signage, and pay attention in work zones. Libal Street is closed to through traffic. There is a lot of remaining work and all parties are trying their best to get the work completed with the least inconvenience possible.

Asphalt binder placement is scheduled for this week south of Allouez Avenue and asphalt milling north of Allouez Avenue. These operations will require many dump trucks in addition to the ongoing construction crews already onsite. Many intersections will be completely closed as these various work operations progress down Libal Street.

Motorists must obey all traffic signage, most notably stop signs, even if it’s within or adjacent to a construction zone. Please make a full stop at all stop signs. It’s for your safety, the safety of other motorists, pedestrians and construction crews.

As a reminder, the official detour route is Hoffman Road to Webster Avenue to Mason Street to Baird Street. Local access for property owners and residents and businesses on Libal Street will remain maintained through the project. We anticipate the entire Libal Street Improvement Project, southern and northern sections, will be completed at roughly the same time in October.

On behalf of the Village of Allouez and project contractors, thank you for your patience and safe driving during the project; we greatly appreciate it.
